Braised Pork Chop with Apple Onion and Sage
Ingredients
- 4 pork chops
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tart apple
- 1/2 cup sliced onion
- 1 minced garlic clove
- 2 tsp chopped fresh sage leaves
- 1/4 cup dry white wine or apple cider (or apple juice)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- Season pork chops with salt and pepper. Heat a large frying pan over medium heat. Add 2 tsp of oil to pan and brown pork chops on both sides then remove from the pan.
- Add 1 tsp of oil to the pan and sauté onions till soft. Add garlic and sauté 1 minute. Add apples and sauté another 2 - 3 minutes then add wine.
- When liquid comes to a boil, the apple is broken down and the liquid is slightly thickened.
