Braised Pork Chop with Apple Onion and Sage

Ingredients

  • 4 pork chops
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tart apple
  • 1/2 cup sliced onion
  • 1 minced garlic clove
  • 2 tsp chopped fresh sage leaves
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine or apple cider (or apple juice)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Season pork chops with salt and pepper. Heat a large frying pan over medium heat. Add 2 tsp of oil to pan and brown pork chops on both sides then remove from the pan.
  2. Add 1 tsp of oil to the pan and sauté onions till soft. Add garlic and sauté 1 minute. Add apples and sauté another 2 - 3 minutes then add wine.
  3. When liquid comes to a boil, the apple is broken down and the liquid is slightly thickened.
